Pakistan And India Salt Agreement

Since Pakistan wants peace with India, it has continued to make salt available to its neighbour to meet its internal needs. Karachi, September 1, 1963 The Government of India and the Government of Pakistan, with the aim of developing, developing and consolidating trade and economic relations between the two countries, have decided to conclude the agreement following Article IThe two governments, which recognize each other in relation to their developing countries, commit to exploiting all opportunities for expansion and promotion of trade between the two countries on the basis of mutual advantage. Article IIEverying government treats the country`s trade in the other state no less favourably than that accorded to trade in a third country. Article IIIThe provisions of Article II do not apply to the granting or continuation of :(a) privileges granted or granted by either government to facilitate border trade; b) preferences; the benefits, privileges or immunities granted by each country to a third country before or as a replacement, and c) any benefits granted under the customs union or free trade area of which the member may become a member. Article IVAl products covered in the “A” and “B” schemes of this agreement, the two governments facilitate the importation and export of nine territories in one or the other, in accordance with their respective laws, regulations and procedures. Article VL`export and/or import of goods not included in flight plans “A” and “B” are also permitted in accordance with the laws, rules and procedures applied from time to time in both countries. Article VIThe two governments also agree to enter into such special regimes, including border trading regimes, which they may consider from time to time, during the period of application of this agreement, as necessary to facilitate the exchange of goods from one country to another. Article VIIThe two governments agree to grant, subject to their respective laws and regulations, appropriate facilities for holding fairs and exhibitions, as well as visits by businessmen and trade delegations sponsored by the government concerned. Article VIII In order to facilitate the implementation of this agreement, the two governments consult, if necessary, and also review the operation of the agreement at least once a year. Article IXThe present agreement enters into force on 1 September 1963 and remains in force for a period of two years.
